Rumble on the Swamp

Kickstands up - let's get ready to rumble! Rumble on the Swamp is a one day Charity Motorcycle Ride that raises funds for Emma's Hugs. Each year this ride is held in conjunction with the Texas Gatorfest in Anahuac, TX.

This year's Rumble on the Swamp will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015. For your $50 entry, you will receive 2 tickets to Saturday's festival and a Rumble on the Swamp t-shirt. There will be multiple door prizes at every stop! The ride begins at Fort Anahuac Park in Anahuac, TX at 11:30 am.

Emma's Hugs Hires New Executive Director

Emma’s Hugs is excited to welcome Dena Horne as its new Executive Director. Dena comes to Emma’s Hugs with a strong record of proven leadership excellence in the nonprofit community.

“We’re thrilled that we successfully recruited Dena to this critical position,” said Christy Dunnam, Board Vice President. “Dena brings the perfect combination of talents and the experience necessary to take Emma’s Hugs to the next level. She’s creative, entrepreneurial, and a results-driven leader who is deeply passionate about seeing Emma’s Hugs impact more lives.”

“I couldn’t be more thrilled, honored and excited to have been selected by the Emma’s Hugs Board of Directors to serve as the organization’s Executive Director,” Horne said. “The commitment and passion of the board promise a strong and enduring future for the organization.”

Zydeco and Gumbo Festival

We had a ball at the Zydeco and Gumbo Festival! The gumbo cooking teams did a fabulous job, and the zydeco music was the best around. Congratulations to Krawfish 2 Geaux for winning first place and to the Gumbonauts-Team Lubrizol for winning second place!

Neon Splash Dash

Dian celebrated her birthday this year in a most magical way! She formed the Super Huggers/Team Emma's Hugs and participated in the Neon Splash Dash. Dian raised over $2500 for Emma's Hugs! Thanks, Dian!

Chick-fil-A

Gator Fest

Thank you, Gatorfest, for donating the proceeds from the Gator (Motorcycle) Run to Emma's Hugs! Proceeds will benefit long-term patients in the Texas Medical Center with parking expenses.

Market Junction

The band, Market Junction, performed live at Dosey Doe, in The Woodlands, Texas, Tuesday, February 28, at 7 p.m. to release their new cd, Heroes Have Gravestones. It was a fun-filled night. The guys from Market Junction donated a portion of the proceeds from their cd release to Emma's Hugs! Thank you to everyone who supported Market Junction and Emma's Hugs!
